It’s questionable how much more mileage there is in any band revving off the garage rock Raw Power patented by Iggy and his Stooges. Nevertheless, The Stella’s manage to take a joyride in their chosen genre, culminating in a brawling barroom album. Short songs clash in a sonic punch-up, but the beats don’t really bruise until the final track, “Looking Forward”, which, although less frenetic, seems more alive or at least more heartfelt. It’s ultimately a pretty-boy roughand-tumble by the Ramones resemblers that revives the boisterousness of boyish rock.
