Muse have revealed the artwork for their upcoming album The 2nd Law, and despite its striking look, it's much more than just a bundle of pretty strings. Taken from The Human Connectome Project, the cover maps out brain pathways, tracking the circuits in our heads and how we process information with bright, neon colors.

The 2nd Law is scheduled for a September 18th release date. The group's recent track "Survival" is currently being used as the official song of the 2012 London Olympics.
