Following Madonna's short performance in Paris last week, her rep is defending the pop star, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Liz Rosenberg called the July 26th show at l'Olympia a "a heartfelt thank you to France," and maintained the show wasn't meant to be a full set. Rosenberg revealed that the set "was [Madonna's] way to honor her love for French artists, French cinema and a tribute to France's long history of welcoming and inspiring artists, authors, painters, poets and minorities from other countries over the years." Though Madonna made the stop in the midst of her MDNA tour, Rosenberg noted the show was not billed as a full MDNA concert.

Madonna's 45-minute set at the l'Olympia received boos and chants of "slut" from the upset crowd, who demanded their money back. The show was only added the week prior, and hundreds of fans camped out hours before the show in anticipation. Tickets ranged from 80 to more than 280 euros, or about R800.00 to more than R2812.00.
