Following a Cape Town show on August 31st and a spring day outing in Joburg's hip downtown Arts on Main area a day later, Swedish electro-pop outfit Little Dragon gave the city's fans a treat when they threw a free concert (along with some well known DJs) in Soweto this past Sunday.

The free concert, sponsored by Red Bull Studios, Adidas and We-Are-Awesome, was held in the popular 'Chaf Posi' in Soweto underneath the iconic Orlando Towers, where the usual vibe is beats and a Shisa Nyama.

Little Dragon is amazing live, and for some audience members it was their second night in a row seeing the four piece – and they were just as good, if not better, than the night before. Inspired (the band told us on during Saturday's show) by the house tunes of Oskido, DJ Cleo and the likes, Little Dragon dropped impressive house beats for the vibing crowd, flowing easily with their experimental electronic sounds.

The Swedish group, with Yukimi Nagano on vocal and percussion, is magical, and the energy they exuded in the shadow of the Soweto landmark towers brought many fans to tears. Little Dragon's effortless music had the Soweto audience jiving and glowing, and they ended with one of their more acoustic melodic songs "Twice". It was a beautiful close to a Sunday evening in Soweto and proof enough that the four-piece really does make "Dreamy, rhythmical and shifting, moody rainbow sounds".
