Soundgarden have announced the release of new album King Animal for 12th November 2012. It will be the Seattle band's first new studio album in more than 15 years and is co-produced by Adam Kasper.

The first single off the album - "Been Away Too Long" - will be available via digital retailers on 27th September.

With two Grammy® award wins, seven overall nominations and over 21 million records sold worldwide, Soundgarden redefined rock music for a whole generation and had a revolutionary impact on the course of musical history.

Soundgarden announced a reunion of sorts three years ago, and since 2010 have released a retrospective (Telephantasm) and their first ever live album (Live on I-5).
