First Dave Matthews Band, then Bruce Springsteen, and now Carlos Santana and his band are the next added to the list of performers who will make their way to South Africa for the first time.

The Mexican-American guitarist, who is currently touring in Las Vegas, with upcoming shows in Dubai and Mexico, announced on November 5 through his Facebook page that he will be playing three shows in Cape Town and one in Johannesburg in 2014.

The post reads, "From Team Santana: We are very happy to announce that Santana will be playing in South Africa for the first time. Carlos & the band will playing at the Grand Arena in Cape Town on February 25, 26, and 27 and at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on March 1. We will see you all there!"

According to the Cape Times, Big Concerts confirmed the tour of the legendary group. Though there is no official page to buy tickets and Santana's tour website lists November 8 as the date tickets go on sale, his Facebook page confirms that more ticket information will be announced later this week.

Santana came onto the scene in the late 1960s with a sound that mixed both rock and blues-based guitar lines set against Latin and African rhythms. He has collaborated with artists from Michelle Branch and Rob Thomas to Sean Paul and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. He was ranked #20 in Rolling Stone's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time".
