Neil Young and Crazy Horse - 'Americana'

It's been nine years since Neil Young and Crazy Horse put out an album together (2003's Greendale) and 16 years since Broken Arrow, Young's last LP with the complete Crazy Horse lineup of Billy Talbot, Ralph Molina and Frank "Poncho" Sampedro. On June 5th, the supreme team returns to full force on Americana, filled with gritty, ragged and rocking renditions of American folk classics like "Oh! Susanna," "Gallows Pole" and "This Land Is Your Land," plus a stomping, album-closing version of "God Save the Queen."

"They're songs we all know from kindergarden," Young has said of the album. "But Crazy Horse has rearranged them, and they now belong to us."
