What’s big, green and has Bryan Cranston freaking out way worse than Walter White in a crawl space? Godzilla! The first trailer for the upcoming reboot opens with sprawling shots of the titular monster’s epic tirade of destruction and finds Cranston in fine, hyper-panicked form, shouting: “It was not an earthquake, it wasn’t a typhoon, because what’s really happening is that you’re hiding something out there. And it is gonna send us back to the Stone Age!”
The trailer goes on to offer a taste of Godzilla’s origin story, but don’t worry: The majority of the clip is rife with out-of-control, digitally rendered mayhem alongside a peek at director Gareth Edwards’ iteration of the monster. It’s a better Godzilla than Roland Emmerich’s 1998 effort, because no one wants to remember how Matthew Broderick brought down the beast with the help of a charming cadre of French intelligence officers.
Godzilla hits theaters on May 16th and also stars Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn and Sally Hawkins.
