American hard rock band, Chevelle, announced on their Facebook page today that they’ll be heading to South Africa in June 2013. The announcement read: “We are excited to announce that we are making the trek to South Africa in June! More info to follow!!”
The year 2011 saw Chevelle cancelling their two scheduled performances in South Africa. The Used replaced them for Oppikoppi on 7 August 2011 and at the Grand West Casino, Cape Town on 8 August 2011.
Chevelle initially committed to the 2011 dates knowing that it might be a push for time to complete their album Hats off to the Bull. After their cancellation they released a statement: “Obviously everyone is really disappointed; there was such enthusiasm and support from all over South Africa and it’s a country we all wanted to see. But we will get there soon.”
