In an interview with Yannis Philippakis of Foals, the vocalist/guitarist (who hails from Oxford by way of Cape Town) spoke about African sonic influence, voodoo and his favourite film scores before performing a powerful Saturday night set at RAMfest.

“We did actually end up boiling and collecting a load of bones in London and using them as percussion to try to get more in the spirit of it [voodoo], but they didn’t actually sound that great so we actually took them off the record,” said Philippakis.

Foals is known for introspective, confessional songwriting and in the interview Philippakis reveals which lyrics he wished he’d written.
